Darling Downs School Sport will host the best 15&16 year old football players from across Queensland starting on Thursday 6 June
The Qld School Sport 15 Girls & 16 Boys State Football Championships will be held at Highfields Football Club at the new Highfields Sport & Recreation Park, Barrack Road Highfields
The championship will see the best underage footballers from across Qld play over four days at Highfields to determine the state champions. At the conclusion of the championships the Qld teams will be announced with the boys to play in the National Championships in Qld in September & the girls heading off to Sydney at the end of July
The DD teams are drawn from schools across the Downs with the hope of bringing home the state titles from the powerful Metropolitan teams
The girls kick off their campaign against Met East at 10:30am whilst the boys take on our neighbouring region Wide Bay at 10:30am as well on Thursday
Games will continue over the 4 days with the finals being played on Sunday 9 June
This is the first timeĀ the state championships has been held locally since 2008 & will be played at the new sports complex which will impress visiting teams
Football Qld has thrown their support behind the championships by providing 20 referees and having the CEO Richard Griffiths attending and chatting to the local football community
